"May I repeat what I told you here: treat nature by means of the cylinder, the sphere, the cone, everything brought into proper perspective so that each side of an object or a plane is directed towards a central point. 

Lines parallel to the horizon give breadth... lines perpendicular to this horizon give depth. But nature for us men is more depth than surface, whence the need to introduce into our light vibrations, represented by the reds and yellows, a sufficient amount of blueness to give the feel of air."

Gosto imenso de pintura. E a pintura impressionista, tal como a música impressionista seduzem-me bastante. Porém, não aprecio muito Cézanne. 

Não tem a ver com as cores fortes, algo sombrias, característica, aliás, que fez com que que fosse rejeitado pelos academicistas. Há algo no seu traço que não me seduz.

No entanto, quando leio esta passagem, sinto-me mais próxima da sua arte. O facto de ser inspirador para jovens artistas, e sobretudo o seu apreço pela  natureza.

Fixo o olhar nas tonalidades das suas telas, não tanto em algumas temáticas. E gosto da técnica que deu origem a novo período na arte de pintar.

Não sei! Já referi algures que em arte ou se sente  ou não se sente! E Cézanne não desperta em mim muitas emoções! Essencial para gostar de arte! Sentir!
